Florida man has baffling solution to preventing Hurricane Dorian devastation

Florida man is back, but this time, instead of breaking the law, he's making suggestions on how to prevent the devastation Hurricane Dorian will wreak.

Hurricane Dorian is a category five storm - the highest classification there is applied to storms with sustained winds over 156 mph - and it's currently en route to Florida.

Given destruction its caused in the Bahamas, Floridians are (rightfully) concerned about what will happen when the storm hits their state.

Comments from Trump about dropping a nuclear bomb on the hurricane have no meteorological merit whatsoever, but that hasn't stopped one Florida man from coming up with a bizarre solution himself.

In a video shared by Florida Today, journalist Tyler Vazquez interviews a Palm Bay native who'd been giving the matter of hurricanes some thought.

He says: "I can't see how they haven't come up with a way yet to combat these storms yet. They keep saying that it is going to hit all this warm weather and warm water.

"We have a navy why don't the navy come and drop ice into the warm water so it can't get going as fast as it is going?"

Warming to his theme, he went on: "There have gotta be ways to combat this instead of just pointing at it and saying 'now it's getting worse.'

"Yeah we know it's getting worse but you keep telling us 'it's the warm weather, the wind.' We have an airforce.

"Why don't we get some planes to fly around it and get the winds going in the opposite way or the navy to go in circles and fight it the other way?"

After the interview snippet was shared on Twitter , social media users were quick to react to the man's way of thinking.

Of course, how hurricanes and other forms of extreme weather work aren't necessarily the sort of thing a lot of people are familiar with.

So you can't necessarily blame a person for not having storms as their mastermind topic.

That said, Trump's suggestion was just completely idiotic.
