ISIS Claims Responsibility for Sri Lanka Terrorist Attack
The terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the bomb attacks on churches and hotels in Sri Lanka that killed at least 321 people on Easter Sunday, but provided no evidence.
恐怖组织 ISIS 宣称对斯里兰卡教堂和酒店在复活节当天发生的炸弹袭击事件负责，但没有提供任何证据。
In a bulletin posted by its Aamaq news agency, ISIS said: “The perpetrators of the attack that targeted nationals of the countries of the coalitions and Christians in Sri Lanka before yesterday are fighters from the Islamic State,” according to a translation by the Associated Press.
根据美联社(Associated Press)的翻译，ISIS 在其阿马克通讯社(Aamaq)发布的一份公告中表示：“昨天针对联盟国国民和斯里兰卡基督徒的袭击，肇事者是伊斯兰国的武装分子。”。
The news came on Tuesday as the Sri Lankan minister of defense Ruwan Wijewardene said the attacks were in retaliation for last month’s terrorist attack against Muslims in Christchurch, New Zealand, in which 50 people were killed. He did not immediately offer any evidence. “The preliminary investigations have revealed that what happened in Sri Lanka was in retaliation for the attack against Muslims in Christchurch,” he told the Sri Lankan parliament.

Sri Lanka attacks: Government vows to overhaul state security
Sri Lanka's president has vowed to overhaul state security after several bomb blasts on Sunday killed 321 people and wounded 500.
Late on Tuesday, Maithripala Sirisena announced changes to the heads of defence forces "within 24 hours".
He said threat reports had not been shared with him, and promised to take "stern action" against officials.
The country's Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said the Islamic State (IS) group may be linked to the blasts.
He added that the government believed Sunday's attacks could not have been carried out without help from terror groups abroad.
IS claimed the attack on Tuesday, although did not provide evidence.
NASA's InSight lander has detected 1st 'marsquake,' scientists say
科学家说，美国宇航局的 InSight 着陆器探测到了第一个火星碎片
NASA's InSight lander has picked up a gentle rumble on Mars, believed to be the first "marsquake" ever detected.
InSight's quake monitor recorded and measured the faint signal April 6, and scientists announced the finding Tuesday.
While the rumble sounds like soft wind, scientists believe it came from within the red planet. Philippe Lognonne of the Paris Institute of Earth Physics, who's in charge of the experiment, said it's exciting to finally have proof that Mars is still seismically active.
虽然隆隆声听起来像柔和的风，科学家认为它来自红色星球内部。 负责这项实验的巴黎地球物理研究所的 Philippe Lognonne 说，终于有证据证明火星仍然是地震活跃的，这令人兴奋。
House issues subpoena to ex-White House lawyer
WASHINGTON (AP) — A House chairman subpoenaed former White House counsel Don McGahn as Democratic leaders moved to deepen their investigation of U.S. President Donald Trump while bottling up talk among their rank-and-file of impeaching him.
Judiciary Chairman Jerrold Nadler was one of six powerful committee leaders making their case on a conference call Monday with other House Democrats late in the day that they are effectively investigating Trump-related matters ranging from potential obstruction to his personal and business taxes.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi urged divided Democrats to focus on fact-finding rather than the prospect of any impeachment proceedings after the damning details of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report.
Nadler and the other chairmen made clear they believe Trump did obstruct justice, according to people on the call who weren’t authorized to discuss it by name.
McGahn would be a star witness for any such case because he refused Trump’s demand to set Mueller’s firing in motion, according to the report.
